UPGRADES

Beulah transmission switch

In July of 2020, San Isabel Electric installed a transmission switch on the main line that feeds power to Beulah. The switch will allow more flexibility for maintenance and outage restoration. This project required two short outages lasting four hours or less to the Beulah Valley, portions of Red Creek Ranch, and HWY 78 areas. Members were notified in advance of any outages related to the project by mail, phone, and email, if we had an email address on file. Click here to learn more.

Upgrade details

This project coincides with several other upgrade projects that are part of the co-op’s long-term strategy to increase reliability, keep operational costs down, and ensure steady rates for many years to come. San Isabel Electric member-owners have only experienced one rate increase in the last decade.

OUTAGES

To complete the project, and to work safely, we conducted two planned outages affecting about 1,300 members. The outages were necessary for Lineworkers to replace a switch on our transmission line. Members were notified in advance of any outages related to the project by mail, automated phone calls, and email, if we had an email address on file.
