Win a $1,000 scholarship!

San Isabel Electric is now offering a brand-new scholarship to its’ existing scholarships program. The Brendon Beach Memorial Scholarship was created to honor former line worker Brendon Beach, who died in an off-duty car accident in March of 2024. The new scholarship will be awarded to an applicant pursuing a career in linework and will cover all tuition and fees related to line school, excluding lodging and travel.

Eligibility requirements:

• The applicant’s primary address must be in the Association’s service territory.
• Recipients of the Brendon Beach Memorial Scholarship must enroll in line school the same year they graduate from high school.
• Applicants must have at least a 2.0 GPA.
• All scholarship applicants must:
  • Provide a copy of their most recent transcript or official general equivalency diploma (GED) test score.
  • Provide a copy of their resume, not to exceed two (2) pages.
  • Provide two (2) letters of recommendation.
• Provide a 750-word or less essay answering all the following questions:
  • How will a scholarship from San Isabel Electric help you complete your degree?
  • How are you unique?
  • Who are your role models and how have they helped set the course of our future?
  • What are some of your greatest accomplishments and challenges?

Scholarship Selection Process

The San Isabel Electric Board of Directors scores the applicants based on their resume, cover letter, letters of recommendation, their answer to a 750-word essay, as well as the grammar and punctuation of their overall application.

Application Deadline

The application deadline for the Brendon Beach Memorial Scholarship has been extended to 11 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025.
