The electric vehicle charging station at the Pueblo West Library has a Level 2 and Level 3 charger. As an electric cooperative, San Isabel Electric works hard to be a valuable part of the communities we serve. Giving the community and our members the opportunity to experience and learn about electric vehicles – transportation technology of the future – is an example of how we are trying to live up to that commitment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Electric and Plug-in hybrid electric cars, once considered a high-tech, expensive novelty, are becoming increasingly common. In fact, several models from mainstream brands have now been sold for years. But many people still have questions about cost, charging, maintenance, and more that they need answers to before they can consider purchasing one as their next vehicle. If you are one of those people, click here to find answers to those questions and help with your decision on whether or not a PHEV or EV car is right for you.
Plug-in electric vehicle and electric vehicle ownership has its benefits. Not only are they fun and practical, they also reduce emissions and save you money. Electric motors react more quickly than conventional vehicles and are more responsive. Because charging stations are located in a variety of places such as your home and the local library, you can plug-in and have your vehicle charged up at any time. You may never need to visit a gas station again. EVs can also reduce the emissions that contribute to climate change and smog, improving public health and reducing ecological damage. Tax Credits, Rebates, and Incentives
Colorado has the greatest amount of electric vehicle tax incentives and rebates available to residents. Incentives are claimed when buyers or lessors file their U.S. income taxes. Rebates are claimed at the time of purchase or lease. San Isabel Electric members are eligible to receive $3,500 off of the Nissan Leaf until April 4, 2019. Click here for more information. To claim the Nissan Leaf rebate, San Isabel Electric members must present a San Isabel Electric bill with the buyer’s name on the bill and proof of residence to a participating Nissan dealership.Read More

- Up to $5,000 in Colorado EV tax incentives for the purchase of a new electric vehicle. Up to $2,500 for the lease of a new electric vehicle.
Some of these federal tax incentives will soon begin to be phased out, according to current legislation. The $7,500 federal tax incentive expires the quarter after an automaker sells more than 200,000 electric plug-in units. More information on incentives can be found at Colorado.gov and the US Department of Energy.
