COVID-19 payment arrangement options
The COVID-19 pandemic was unprecedented. We know our consumer-members may be facing financial challenges and we understand you may have trouble paying your electric bill during this critical time. If you missed payments and have a past-due balance, we can help.
Standard Payment Plan
Members who have a past due balance, that are not already enrolled in the pre-paid program, will automatically be enrolled in a six month payment plan. The past due balance will be divided equally throughout six consecutive months.
Members already enrolled in the pre-paid program who have a past due balance less than $500 will automatically be enrolled in a pre-paid payment plan. 60% of each payment will be applied to future energy credits, 40% will be applied to past due balances. This is available to members enrolled in the pre-paid program. To enroll in pre-pay call 800-279-7432 to see if you qualify for the program. For program qualifications go to siea.com/waystopay.
Members with past due balances will automatically be enrolled in a payment arrangement plan. To opt out of either payment arrangement plan, call 800-279-SIEA (7432), or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Members who opt-out, and do not make other payment arrangements, may be subject to disconnection if the past due balance is not paid in full.
Disconnect suspension reminder
Although disconnect procedures for nonpayment were suspended during the COVID-19 global pandemic, charges for electric usage are still being accrued.
To help our members during the COVID-19 pandemic, San Isabel Electric temporarily suspended nonpayment disconnections for residential and small commercial members. This is one of many steps the co-op took to reduce stress on our members and provide local families and businesses with certainty during an uncertain time.
We expect to return to regular collection practices, including disconnections, July 14. Small commercial and residential members with past due balances should have received an email or letter in the mail regarding payment arrangement options. To assist our members, we will place residential and small commercial accounts with more than a $100 past due balance into a six-month payment arrangement. Your past due balance will be split into six payments and be added to your regular monthly bill for six consecutive months. If you would prefer to not participate in the six-month payment arrangement, or if you need more information, please contact us at 719-647-6235 (Collections). The deadline to opt out of the payment arrangement is Monday, July 6.
Partial or non-payment of the COVID-19 payment arrangement could result in disconnection of service.
