Cash-centric consumers can now pay their San Isabel Electric bill at more than a dozen retailers between Pueblo and the Colorado-New Mexico state line through VanillaDirect Pay.

When shopping with cash at select local retailers, San Isabel members can now pay all or part of their electric bill or fund their pre-paid account by scanning a barcode tied to their SIEA account. The barcode is available at the bottom of SIEA electric bills and with the electric co-op’s mobile app, SmartHub. The electric bill payment is added to the retailer’s transaction and immediately transferred to the SIEA member’s account.

The new cash-payment VanillaDirect Pay option is available at all 7 Eleven, Dollar General, Family Dollar, and Walgreens locations. VanillaDirect Paywill be available at all Walmart locations in the near future.

“Electricity is a household essential. We’re happy to give members the convenience to pay for electricity when they’re buying the rest of their household essentials, like food and clothing,” Communications Manager Paris Daugherty said.

Cash payments can still be made at any San Isabel Electric office, during business hours, or through MoneyGram, which is available at Walmart in Trinidad, and several locations in Pueblo.
