Ray Garcia is presently serving on the San Isabel Electric Board of Directors representing District 3. Mr. Garcia was first elected to the San Isabel Electric Association, Inc. Board of Directors in 1983. Mr. Garcia attended University of Colorado, School of Engineering in Boulder with an emphasis on electrical engineering . He is a Cooperative Credentialed Director and Board Leadership Certified from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).
Mr. Garcia served as the Chairman of the Huerfano County Board of County Commissioners from 2015 to 2021. He retired from his position as Water Commissioner for District 79 with the State of Colorado in 2013.
Mr. Garcia has previously served as president of the Huerfano County RE-1 School District Board, former president of the Sacred Heart Parish Council, former president of the Gardner Chuck Wagon Supper Association, served in all officers of the Colorado Rural Electric Association, former Chair of External Affairs on the Tri-State Generation & Transmission Board, and former Chair of Administrative Committee on the NRECA Board. He also served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Garcia is a retired farmer and rancher in the Gardner area and is a master plumber, pipe fitter and welder.
