Someone is going to win free electricity for a year, up to a $1,500 value, at San Isabel Electric’s annual meeting Saturday, September 17, 2022, at John Mall High School in Walsenburg, Colorado.

Every year the co-op gives away a grand prize and several door prizes. This year, all door prizes were purchased from businesses the utility serves.

There are a few prize restrictions and exclusions. Only San Isabel Electric members are eligible – meaning you must buy electricity from the co-op to be entered to win any prizes. Only in-person attendees will be entered to win any prizes, and only one entry per member will be entered in the drawing.

Door prizes will be randomly drawn throughout the meeting. The grand prize winner will be randomly drawn after the business meeting. If the member is no longer present, the prize will be forfeited. For full prize restrictions and exclusions visit siea.com/annualmeeting.

The events begin at 10:00 a.m. with BINGO, donuts, coffee, popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, and several interactive demonstrations and booths.

  • EV Experience: A small fleet of electric vehicles will be on display with experts available to answer questions related to costs, mileage, charging, and more.
  • Empower:  Sign up for a free energy assessment at the Empower booth. San Isabel Electric’s energy-efficiency program, Empower, provides energy efficiency advising, products, installation, and on-bill financing for our members. We offer heating and cooling products, water heaters, generators, solar, insulation and more.
  • Outdoor power equipment: See an electric lawn mower, chainsaw, leaf blower, or trimmer, and learn about how electrifying outdoor power equipment can help save you money.
  • Story Behind the Switch: Kids and adults of all ages will enjoy this hair-raising, interactive booth. Learn about where electricity comes from and get some tips about electric safety.

A free lunch will be served by a local caterer at 11:30 a.m. with the business meeting and election of three new directors beginning at 1:00 p.m.

The meeting will also be broadcast live at  siea.com/annualmeeting for those who are not able to attend in person.
